The City of Reno, Nevada Civil Service Commission is looking for an energetic Chief Examiner/ Recruitment and Selection Director. We are seeking someone who is interested in managing and executing local and national talent acquisition strategies in a Civil Service/public sector environment, to innovate and ensure alignment with best practices and trends that support the overall goals and mission of our City.
The Chief Examiner/Recruitment and Selection Director reports directly to and serves at the pleasure of the City of Reno Civil Service Commission and serves as the department head for the Civil Service Department.
Examples of Essential Functions:
Developing and driving talent acquisition processes and programs for the City of Reno with emphasis on highly responsive service, process efficiency, diversity and quality of hires, and an opportunity to develop strong internal relationships.

Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Four (4) years of professional human resource experience performing recruitment activities for a large organization; preferably within the public sector.
License and Certification:
Possession of a valid Nevada driver's license at time of appointment.
Education Substitution: Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to the maximum of 2 years). One year of experience will be considered equivalent to thirty (30) semester or forty-five (45) quarter units of college coursework.
